The Macias collection consists of an audio DVD, a video DVD, and a biographical form for an oral history interview conducted between Macias, Paul Allen, and Daardi Sizemore in 2015. In this interview, Macias talks about his career at Minnesota State University as Wrestling Coach.

The Brock collection consists of an audio CD and a biographical form for an oral history interview conducted between Brock, Paul Allen, and Daardi Sizemore in 2016. In this interview, Brock talks about her career at Minnesota State University Mankato as a faculty member, intermural advisor, coach, and then women’s athletics director. Brock retired in 1998 after 34 years at Minnesota State Mankato.

The Zonta Club Oral Histories include five interviews from members in the Zonta Club of Mankato. Interviews were conducted by students from Susan Freeman’s Women’s Studies class. Aspects covered in the interviews are childhood, college, professional careers, sex discrimination and their personal experience as a member of the Zonta Club of Mankato.
The collection contains interviews from women with professional jobs such as in the Blue Earth County Attorney’s Office, in the New York Life Insurance company, as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, were entrepreneurs or as managers. The interviews discuss the difficulty in entering into male dominated fields, as well as attitudes towards gender in the workplace. In addition, the interviewees discuss their involvement in the Zonta organization.

The Prudence J. Gushwa collection consists of an audio CD, Gushwa’s resume, and a biographical form and interview outline of an oral history interview conducted between Gushwa and Daardi Sizemore in August 2009. In this interview, Gushwa talks about her family, her experience as a student at Mankato State University, and her experience as an Educational Leadership Department faculty member at Minnesota State University.

Preparing for Your First Visit to the University Archives
Before You Visit
University Archives hours:Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Appointments are strongly recommended.

At the beginning of your first visit you will be asked to fill out a Register of Readers form. The form lists a number of University Archives policies and asks each visitor to provide identifying information used towards our statistics.
Policies for using archival material in the University Archives and Southern Minnesota Historical Center
- Please handle the archival material carefully.
- Pencils are the only writing instruments to be used while working with material from the University Archives. Please do not mark, fold, or alter any materials from the Archives.
- You may bring paper, notebooks, index cards, or laptop computers into the reading room. Please do not write on top of materials in the course of note taking.
- Backpacks, bags, jackets, etc. need to be kept in the designated area away from the research tables.
- Sign in on the Archives Registration Form every time you use the Archives.
- Books and manuscripts do not circulate and must be used in the reading room.
- Keep archival material in its original order. Please limit use to only one box and one folder at any given time.
- Due to the fragile nature of historical documents, photocopying is allowed at the discretion of the Archives staff.
- The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 USC) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. “Fair use” guidelines of the U.S. Copyright law apply to the use of archival materials. Individuals are liable for any and all infringements of copyright law.
- Permission must be obtained in writing before any materials from the collections may be published.
- Archives staff may ask to look at items in your possession before you leave the Archives.
